La película “Everything Everywhere All at Once” se alzó como la triunfadora de la noche con siete estatuillas.
El intérprete vietnamita Ke Huy Quan y la estadounidense Jamie Lee Curtis, ambos integrantes del elenco de «Everything Everywhere All at Once, ganaron el Óscar a mejor actor y actriz secundarios, respectivamente, en la 95 edición de los premios de la Academia de Hollywood.
«Mi madre está viendo esto en casa. Mamá, tengo un Óscar. (…) Pensaba que esto solo pasaba en las películas pero me ha ocurrido a mí», expresó entre lágrimas Huy Quan tras recibir la estatuilla de manos del ganador en este apartado el año pasado, Troy Kotsur.
El actor pugnaba con Brendan Gleeson y Barry Keoghan («The Banshees of Inisherin»); Brian Tyree Henry («Causeway») y Judd Hirsch («The Fabelmans»).
Huy Quan comenzó su carrera de niño y formó parte del reparto de clásicos del cine como «The Goonies» o «Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom», este último dirigido por Steven Spielberg.
El cineasta, ahora nominado por «The Fabelmans», solo pudo observar con una evidente cara de felicidad el triunfo del intérprete vietnamita.
Por su parte, Lee Curtis recogió la primera estatuilla dorada de su carrera agradeciendo a «cientos de personas» pero, sobre todo, a los directores del filme «Everything Everywhere All at Once», Daniel Kwan y Daniel Scheinert.
«Esto no es solo mío… ¡Acabamos de ganar un óscar!», exclamó la intérprete desde el escenario del Teatro Dolby, donde se está celebrando esta nueva entrega de los Óscar.
